(so this could probably just be figments of my imagination)
- Eastern Promises
I liked David Cronenberg's work more when it was a little more weird. Not much to complain about, actually - great acting, solid script, excellent soundtrack etc etc. But the only moments the film felt actually alive where when Cronenberg could indulge his love for human bodies and what's inside of them. Also fine and Cronenbergian were the tattoos. - Boarding Gate
Olivier Assayas tries his hand on some kind of thriller. It would be a little to cool and understated for my tastes if not for the always wonderful Asia Argento, whose work is never less than intense.
